Plumbing Traing and City and Guilds level from the Plumbing and Construction College

I needed a new start after being made redundant (yet again). Plumbing seemed a good idea, after all, no water no civilisation !   The College helped me every step of the way and I was put at ease right from the start.  I joined The Guild of Master Plumbers when I finished the course and the technical helpline has proved to be very helpful.

Getting customers was not as difficult as I thought, they just want the job done with the least amount of mess, they want me to arrive on time, do the work to the required Building Regulations, and charge a decent price. The College showed me how much to charge and how to operate my business, they even included free accountancy advice with again a friendly helpline.  This is definitely the way forward for me, every day is different, I get to meet different and interesting people who value my work and pay me a good sum of money for the job that I do.   Priceless.

Both my daughter and I attended the College Course in Plumbing and Ceramic wall & floor tiling.  We wanted to work together to build a business.  The training was first class and enjoyable.  The class sizes were no more than 8 people so we got that all important one-to-one tuition from the trainers.  We both decided to join The Guild of Master Plumbers and it's certainly paid dividends.

The tuition that the College gave us about starting our business, how much to charge, how to get customers etc. has been priceless.  Now we're building a viable business that gives job satisfaction and real money at the end of the week. We were also featured in The Daily Mirror and that really worked for us.

I've been on three courses with the College, every one of them has been excellent, far better than I could have imagined.  The trainers were first class and they knew their stuff.  The technical tuition was delivered in straight forward and simple ways, and they were careful to keep the jargon to a minimum. The practical work was not too difficult and they understood that quite a lot of it was new to me. I was treated with respect at all times, and we all got along very well indeed.  Now I'm working as a self employed plumber and busy all the time.  Attending the College was the best thing I've ever done with regards to work, and the future certainly looks rosy.
